" Healthcare is a Journey - Use a Patient Passport! "

Melanie Osley, RN, MBA, CPHRM, CPHQ, DFASHRM
As a nurse for 40+ years, over half of those years included roles as a legal nurse consultant, hospital leader in risk/quality/patient safety, patient satisfaction, compliance; state surveyor, & malpractice insurance claims manager & senior risk manager.
During that experience, many surgical and medical events showed issues regarding information provided to patients and their ability to understand the information.
Patient self-advocacy training includes the use of tools, checklists, communication skills, and organization of the patient's ongoing current and past medical information. This training makes the healthcare journey easier to manage and understand.
